Call for Virtual Performance

MusEd’24 is a platform for music educators, researchers, administrators, students, musicians, and industry practitioners to discuss ideas, findings, innovations and best practices relevant to the teaching and learning of music.

Our theme for this conference is “Sustainable Music Education”.

​

We invite you to be part of this exciting conference by submitting your virtual performances. Whether you are a solo musician, part of a band, an ensemble or a fusion group, we welcome all forms of musical expression.

Recording Guidelines

  1. Performances should be no longer than 10 minutes in duration.

  2. Performances can be vocal, instrumental, or a combination thereof.

  3. Performances must have been recorded on or after 1 January 2023.

  4. The video format should be recorded in landscape/horizontal mode in .mp4 or .mov format with a minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080.

  5. Make sure your room is quiet and comfortable, with very little disturbance from the outside world, such as traffic noise or neighbours.

  6. Dress appropriately for the video, strictly no shorts, singlets, slippers, pyjamas.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Video recordings are required; audio recordings will not be accepted.

  2. Required to submit a 100-word biography or background of the individual/group. 

  3. We encourage submissions from a wide range of musical genres and styles, including but not limited to classical, contemporary, traditional, jazz, pop, rock, world music, and experimental. 

  4. Performances can be in any language or instrument-type. If the lyrics are not in English, please provide subtitles.

  5. Ensure that your video recording meets all requirements and you are satisfied with the quality before you upload it. 

  6. All accepted performances will be scheduled and arranged at a suitable performance time at the discretion of the panel.

  7. Please submit your recordings by January 5, 2024.

SELECTIONPROCESS

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the field of music education and performance.

 

Selection will be based on the quality, creativity, and diversity of the proposed performances.

 

Specific performance dates and times will be assigned to selected submissions.
